I have more than one pet. Can they stay in the same room together?
Yes, if you want them to! As long as they get along. We do reserve the right to separate family members if they for any reason are not getting along. Full price for the new enclosure will apply.

What happens if my pet gets injured or sick at your facility?
In the case of an illness or injury, we will make every attempt to contact you or your emergency contact. In the event that no contact can be made, Tail Topia will assume the role and seek veterinary attention. We reserve the right to choose the veterinary clinic of our choice, we will always try your veterinarian first. In this case, all veterinary costs incurred will be the responsibility of the owner and a nominal veterinary transport fee will also be applied.

My dog is not fixed. Can they still come to your facility?
Tail Topia does not require your pet be spayed or neutered prior to boarding. However, they are required to be fixed for daycare after six months. Exceptions are made for dogs who start younger than six months.

Dogs in heat or who excessively mark may be charged an additional fee.

Is there someone on staff 24/7?
No, we currently do not have staff during the hours of 9:00 pm to 6:00 am, however the facility in monitored with camera systems to allow staff to see you pet during those hours. We also have a staff member on call for emergencies. The owner and manager both live close by and can be at the facility within minutes. We hope to add overnight staff in the future.

Do I need to make a reservation?
Yes, we generally fill up holiday weekends, school vacations and during the summer months. Therefore, we recommend making reservations for your pet as early as possible. It is a good idea to book a space in the kennel at the same time you book a space for you to stay with your family. Once we are full, we begin a waiting list for any possible future cancellations. We try our best to accommodate all the pets we can safely board. Reservations can be made online through our website.

What if my dog is on medication?
We can give vitamins, pills, topical and insulin medications as specified. Please make sure all medication is clearly labeled and dosage instructions are included. There is no additional fee for medicine.

What belongings should I bring for my pet?
We typically recommend bringing your dog’s food from home, as dogs do better staying on their regular diet from home and have less trouble with upset stomachs from switching foods. If you do decide to bring your own food, we recommend bringing it in a resealable container. We also have a refrigerator and microwave to prepare special diets. We provide cots for all of our overnight guests. However, if you want them to have something soft and snuggly from home, you can bring in a bed or blanket. Toys are permitted, but we ask that you limit them to three of their favorite toys. Your dog’s toys will stay with them in their kennel's and we will do our best to return all toys. We are not responsible if a toy is lost or destroyed. You can also feel free to bring treats, but please, no rawhide treats.

Can I call to check on my pet?
Absolutely! Please call during our business hours of 7am to 6pm, Monday through Friday, Saturdays from 9am to 5 pm, and 1pm - 5pm on Sundays to get an update on your pet. You may also write us an email to check-in, but realize that email is not the fastest way to get information, as we generally only check in once a day. We will also send you pictures of your pet while you are away if you choose. We are also working on getting a video system to allow you to sign in and view your pet while you are away.

What are your pick-up/drop-off hours?
We offer Doggy Daycare Monday through Friday from 7am to 6 pm. You can pick up or drop off your pets anytime during these hours. We also offer extended accommodations from 6am to 9pm for an additional fee. We are closed to customers on New Year’s Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We also close at noon the day before Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. For Memorial Day & Labor Day, we are only open between 1 and 5 pm and normally do not offer daycare on those days.

What is your cancellation policy?
During the summer or holidays, you can cancel up to a week prior to the stay with no charge. If you cancel within the week of your pet's stay, we will charge you half of the cost of the stay unless we are able to fill the vacancy. We require a credit card to hold your reservation. All other times of the year, there is a 48 hour cancellation notice. All cancellations within 48 hours will be charged for one night of board.

What discounts are offered?
We offer a 10% military discount for all active duty personnel and their dependents. We also offer a 5% discount for all veterans. All dogs receive a complimentary bath after five consecutive nights. Multiple pets boarding in the same run/condo stay for a lower cost. All foster dogs in a 401C rescue organization can receive one free day of daycare per week to help with socialization skills.
