What happens if my pet gets injured or sick at your facility?

In the case of an illness or injury, we will make every attempt to contact you or your emergency contact. In the event that no contact can be made, Tail Topia will assume the role and seek veterinary attention. We reserve the right to choose the veterinary clinic of our choice, we will always try your veterinarian first. In this case, all veterinary costs incurred will be the responsibility of the owner and a nominal veterinary transport fee will also be applied.

Is there someone on staff 24/7?

No, we currently do not have staff during the hours of 9:00 pm to 6:00 am, however the facility in monitored with camera systems to allow staff to see you pet during those hours. We also have a staff member on call for emergencies. The owner and manager both live close by and can be at the facility within minutes. We hope to add overnight staff in the future.

Do I need to make a reservation?

Yes, we generally fill up holiday weekends, school vacations and during the summer months. Therefore, we recommend making reservations for your pet as early as possible. It is a good idea to book a space in the kennel at the same time you book a space for you to stay with your family. Once we are full, we begin a waiting list for any possible future cancellations. We try our best to accommodate all the pets we can safely board. Reservations can be made online through our website.

Can I call to check on my pet?

Absolutely! Please call during our business hours of 7am to 6pm, Monday through Saturday, and 12pm -6pm on Sundays to get an update on your pet. You may also write us an email to check-in, but realize that email is not the fastest way to get information, as we generally only check in once a day. We will also send you pictures of your pet while you are away if you choose. We are also working on getting a video system to allow you to sign in and view your pet while you are away.

What are your pick-up/drop-off hours?

We’re open seven days a week from 7am to 6 pm, Monday through Saturday, and 12pm to 6pm on Sundays. You can pick up or drop off your pets anytime during these hours. We also offer extended accommodations from 6am to 9pm for an additional fee. All boarding cats must be picked up by 3pm or an additional night will be added. We are closed to customers on New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We also close at noon the day before Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

What is your cancellation policy?

During the summer or holidays, you can cancel up to a week prior to the stay with no charge. If you cancel within the week of your pet's stay, we will charge you half of the cost of the stay unless we are able to fill the vacancy. We require a credit card to hold your reservation. All other times of the year, there is a 24 hour cancellation notice. All cancellations within 24 hours will be charged for one night of board.
